This too happened to my daughter in 2018, in November, she was only 2 1/2 months old had intussusception and needed surgery. I was an emotional wreck. I was visiting my parents in RI and I noticed that she wasn't eating as much and when she did, she would just throw up but it didn't look normal, almost like a jelly-like consistency. I was going to wait to take her to her pediatrician that following Monday (mind you, it was Saturday) and good thing I didn't wait. I'm really grateful that I listened to my mommy instincts because I feel like it really saved my little girl. She has a scar above her belly button from her surgery but she's now a year and a half and thriving.

This happened to my baby too at 6mos wile he was still exclusively breastfed. Not even on solids yet. It happened right off a nap. And yes it was the most horrifying experience of my life. Mine would slip in and out of lethargy too which is another common symptom. He was absolutely miserable not being allowed to breastfeed - which was his go-to form of comfort. I couldn’t even bring myself to look at the enema taking place. We were on the third and last attempt before they would have had to take him into surgery and somehow it worked. I saw grown men (doctors and nurses) cry along with me.

Doctors say it happens to 1 in a hundred thousand and it’s totally random, no proven cause. It is most common in babies because their intestines are still developing. We were told to watch out for recurrences until he was 6yo. We’re at 10yo now with no recurrences.
